Anderson .Paak’s stock is on the rise. With that in mind, the Cali crooner is steady disseminating product from his January album Malibu.
Today, we get his latest visual, which happens to be a video for three
tracks off the album wrapped up in one, “The Season/Carry Me/The
Waters.”
Paak sticks to the road less traveled, choosing an unconventional
treatment that has an almost cartoonish feel and involves plenty of
green screen, eye popping backgrounds and visually stimulating colors.
The 6:10 video is directed by Paak and Chris Le and finds .Paak involved
in a number of curious situations.
Since signing his deal
with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath label back in January, the crooner has taken
advantage of the added exposure. He performed at his first New York City
in Febraury and has since been the musical guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel Live
Flexing his newfound clout, he recently brought out Kendrick Lamar and Dr. Dre during his performance at Coachella 2016
and dropped a documentary that gives a sneak peak into his growing
career. “It’s fun to work with a producer that is versatile and has a
great ear and knows how to get great vocal performances out of you,”
.Paak says
on the doc. “I can hear it, it’s like night and day when I work with
him on a song and when I work by myself. And after I was done working
with Dre, I had a different approach of how I went into the studio. It
was just more tenacity.”
