Watch Eminem and D12 Rip a 25-Minute Freestyle From 2004

In the early-to-mid-2000s, Shady Records and Aftermath put a headlock on the game by not only dropping a string of chart-topping albums but also heavy dose of mixtapes that flooded the market and solidified their presence both on the mainstream and street level. Rapping and freestyling over other people’s instrumentals on mixtapes like the Invasion series with DJ Green Lantern and the seemingly endless stream of G-Unit tapes, no beats were safe and plenty of booths were left ablaze.
Along with loosies and random Napster freestyles, the Shady Records crew would bust rhymes on radio at any opportune moment and in honor of Throwback Thursday, U.K. DJ Tim Westwood released the full version of a 2004 radio appearance from Eminem, members of D12, Stat Quo and Green Lantern.
As Green spins beats like Snoop Dogg’s “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” Young Buck’s “Shorty Wanna Ride,” Lloyd Banks’ “Bangers,” The Lox’s “Fuck You,” Trillville’s “Get On My Level” and Fat Joe’s “Lifestyle,” the crew go off the dome for 25 minutes. Em was on his promo run for Encore at the time, an album that sold over 700,000 copies and hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Stick around for the end as they really let loose on “Get On My Level” to close out the segment.
