YG Opens Up About Police Shutting Down “FDT” Video Shoot

Last week, the video shoot for YG and Nipsey Hussle’s new song “F*ck Donald Trump” was shut down by police after they were called to the location because a huge crowd had gathered. Now the Young Gangsta is speaking out on the terminated statement-making track’s visual which is a celebration of the Cali car culture as well as the ultimate diss of the Republican presidential hopeful.
Following his reunion performance with DJ Mustard at Coachella, the Bompton rapper spoke with Complex about the shoot that was ended prematurely.
“We speaking for a lot of people who are not really speaking up or they got nobody in no situation that’s really gonna put it all on the line for they race [and] they culture,” said YG. “We feel a similar way everybody else feels. We just took it on the chest. Like, ‘Look, This is what we about to do. We gonna speak on it.’ F-ck whatever consequences and all of that. We gonna deal with it.”
No arrests were made by the officers who reportedly rolled up in riot gear. But several citations were given out for things ranging from “illegally modified exhaust systems to excessive speed and loitering for the general purpose of street racing.”
YG has no problem taking that L for the culture. “This is real hip-hop. This is what this sh-t is built off of-talking about the culture and what’s going on and putting it out there to make a difference. Let motherf-ckers know, we out here,” he said.
