Baby mama drama is linked to hip-hop
way too often. Sadly, in more cases than not, it’s due to the rapper’s
relationship with the mother of their child and certain issues that
follow. The kids, who were likely conceived during happier times or on a
mere night of pleasure, often provide ammo for the mother to come after
the rapping father with intentions of airing out their former partner’s
dirty laundry for the world to see. However, it’s always good to see
when these things can be worked out rather than head down a negative
path.
A prime example of turning a negative situation into a positive when it comes to parenting is Fetty Wap. At first mention that he was the father of a child with former Love & Hip Hop Hollywood
cast
member Masika Kalysha, the Paterson N.J. native was in extreme
denial, even calling the reality star out publicly. “Just sit back n
watch lol,” Fetty tweeted after Masika revealed she was six months
pregnant in December. TMZ then followed up with a story that Fetty told the TV star to get an abortion
and said he wasn’t going to help with the baby. “I ain’t comin round
helping yu none of that I’m lettin yu no now,” Fetty allegedly wrote in a
text message to Masika. He then demanded a paternity test.
Fast forward to February of this year, after a Twitter war went down, and the two mended broken fences. Fetty
even apologized to the mother of his third child on Twitter.
“@masikakalysha everything may not b okay but I want what’s best for the
baby so I apologize,” he wrote. She quickly accepted,“Thank you… Me and
baby appreciate the apology.” On March 30, they welcomed a little girl, Khari Barbie Maxwell, and seem to be in each other’s good graces.
However, most co-parenting
relationships unfortunately don’t turn out like this. Check out Fetty
Wap and 10 other rappers who’ve experienced baby mama drama above.
