Meek Mill and Drake’s
feud is not ending anytime soon. While the two’s beef seemed to have
settled down by the end of 2015, things have ramped up in 2016. Meek
Mill’s latest move to antagonize his rival is a remix of Drake’s new
single “Summer Sixteen.”
DJ Akademiks got his hands on two videos where snippets of Meek
Mill’s spin on the Drake track are played. One of the clips posted on
Twitter shows Dreamchasers artist Omelly bumping his boss’ rendition of
the song. Omelly appeared on Meek’s record “War Pain,” which dissed
Drake not long after “Summer Sixteen” was released.
“See an OVO chain, probably take that shit/Said dreamin’ wasn’t
enough, we had to chase that shit/You ain’t write it n—a, we caught ya,
can’t erase that shit,” Meek Mill rapped on the song.
The beef playing out on wax again is a welcomed sight after it was
recently revealed that things got physical last year. Quentin Miller,
the alleged ghostwriter for Drake, claims he was attacked by Meek Mill’s crew when he was out in Los Angeles.
“It’s true, it’s true, it’s true,” Miller said when asked about a
rumored altercation with Meek Mill’s crew. “They caught me… We was
walking, we was in L.A., I was walking to the Nike store and he
approached me. And this was really my first time talking with Meek and
basically he told me he ain’t appreciate the letter I dropped and it
made him seem like he was a liar and what not. And they fucking stole
off on me in the Nike store and ran. I shed blood in the Nike store on
Wilshire.”
Meek Mill has denied this ever happen. The MMG rapper points to the fact that no footage of the incident has emerged as proof that nothing happened.
