Kokonsagh.com reported last week that Shatta Wale will be giving a speech at the 2016 Oxford Africa Conference and as well perform at the after party. Just after this was made public,  ghanaians started asking questions as to how he got the deal.

To some, he worked his way in, to be made speaker and others said the Oxford authorities themselves contacted him, and even paid him huge sum of money to come share his experience as a musician making it big here in Ghana.
On Peace Fm’s entertainment review show, when his spokesperson, Chris Koney was asked whether Shatta Wale lobbied for the Oxford deal, he answered,
“Yes, we lobbied. I work with the team last year so I myself put in the application and touched base with them by sending Shatta Wale’s biography to them that, this is the kind of stuffs he’s doing here in Ghana and more. So, they also considered the application and they felt like, yes Shatta Wale has seen and done it all and wrote back to us.”
When Akwasi Aboagye asked whether they’ve been paid for all that Shatta Wale will be doing as in speaking at the concert and thereafter performing at the after party. He replied,
“It’s not about the money, it’s about brand positioning. You will be talking to well-placed people globally; presidents, movers and shakers of businesses across the world so it’s not about the money. There is no money involved, we are taking care of stuffs ourselves”.
